Valentine’s Day Island-Style

Valentine’s Day came and left on Guam.   Conventional card buying, flower gifts arranged in a variety of colors and design, and plenty of chocolates were the staples.  The Valentine’s Day custom on this island is basically the same as how other people celebrate theirs in most parts of the world.

But Guamenians celebrates their holidays and special occasions on a much smaller scale,  ever mindful that most everything on this island are imported in and tend to cost more.  But in spite of the simplicity of the occasion,  the spirit of Valentine’s Day was still felt among the islanders in their heart.
